Building Local Partnerships

We continue to build on partnerships with great local companies. Our creation of the Hamilton Spectator's Future City web project, a stunning example of Flash design which let Hamiltonians vote on the future of the city and watch their decisions play out on a 3-dimensional map, has led to many projects with the Spec's parent company, Metroland Media West, such as LocalWork and Wheels.ca.

Some of the best examples of Hamilton database design are the result of partnerships between industrial companies and creative web companies. The white vans with the distinctive Five M's logo of Moore Environmental Systems Limited (MESL) are common in Hamilton, carrying MESL employees from job site to job site as they work on refrigeration and climate control systems.

We worked closely with MESL to design the Mechanical Equipment Tracking System (METS), an advanced database system for tracking jobs, locations, and equipment, as well as dispatching employees and tracking their hours and progress, and performing billing and invoicing. MESL is now almost paperless - a great example of Hamilton's industrial companies leading the way in the digital age!
